Members of this team have been providing medical education related to Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Parkinson’s disease (PD) and movement disorders (MD) for healthcare professionals (CME) for over 25 years. The faculty is composed of internationally
recognized leaders in the field in terms of patient care, research and education. The treatment of these disorders is quickly advancing with many changes in the diagnosis and management of these disorders in terms of both motor and non-motor features. Through interactions with and feedback from healthcare professionals, it is clear that there are knowledge gaps and therefore a need for education and updates on the most recent diagnostic breakthroughs and treatment strategies to best manage and improve the quality of life of these patients.
This course adopts a case-based learning approach to highlight the current and emerging diagnostic and management strategies for Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders. There will be six topics covered and for each topic, cases will be presented, and various strategies will be discussed with the panel of experts and the audience. For each 45-minute session a faculty member and a local expert will moderate the discussions. This approach is designed to present real world case scenarios encountered during clinical practice and provide the audience with various approaches to each case, as the diagnosis and treatment of these disorders is not a one plan fits all approach.deep understanding of the scientific basis of medicine and develop the skills they need to provide exceptional patient care.
